The West Coast Exhibit at YVR’s International Arrivals was designed by Peter Heiss whose model for the project (as seen on our models gallery page) measured 6 feet in length. The project was part of the airport’s expansion and construction of the new International Terminal. Among the highlights, the exhibit includes 4 different styles of rock – sandstone, granite (beach and archway) and west coast volcanic blackrock - and incorporates native sculptures of west coast animals centered by a raven. While Peter designed the rockwork, Mark sculpted and painted each of the 4 styles of rockwork.
